Financial support

Commonwealth COVID-19 Disaster Payment
The Mildura Local Government Area was officially declared as a Commonwealth Government hotspot on 19 July 2021, with affected residents now eligible for the COVID-19 disaster payment. Individuals will be eligible for this payment if they have lost between 8 and 20 hours of work for a payment of $375, and for 20 or more hours of work for a payment of $600.

Good Shepherd - COVID Hardship Support Hotline and No Interest Loans
Good Shepherd, Australia’s oldest not-for-profit supporting women and families, has expanded its No Interest Loans program to offer Household Relief Loans Without Interest for people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Phone: 1300 121 130

Energy Assistance Program
The Brotherhood of St. Laurence, Uniting, and the Australian Energy Foundation have launched a FREE service – the Energy Assistance Program – designed to help eligible Victorians save on their electricity and gas bills. This service is independent of energy companies and supported by the Victorian Government. The program can assist you with energy issues, including switching you to a cheaper energy offer.
