| | | | Mildura Rural City Council wants to know what people think of the Mildura CBD taxi rank, the Waiting Zone.
| | | |
 |
| People who have used the Waiting Zone to catch a taxi during its three months of operation are invited to share their views and opinions by completing a survey which asks specific questions about how the Waiting Zone operates, as well as general questions relating to safety in the CBD.
Already Council staff have circulated the survey amongst patrons at local night spots and it is now available online for others to complete too.
Community Safety Committee member Councillor Fiona Hilton-Wood said the survey was designed to garner honest feedback from those people using the Waiting Zone.
“Now that the Waiting Zone had been operating for three months it is important to find out whether it is working, for everyone involved. This includes the patrons and members of the community who use taxis to get home from the CBD after midnight on Friday and Saturday nights,” she said.
The survey forms part of a comprehensive evaluation process Council is currently undertaking to review the Waiting Zone.
“It is vital that we hear the views of as many people as possible because without the feedback of everyone involved we can’t realistically determine whether or not the Waiting Zone is working.”
All information obtained from the evaluation process will be presented to Council and used to help determine how the Waiting Zone is operated and delivered in the future. The evaluation process will be completed by the end of November 2009.
To have your say about the Waiting Zone download a copy of the survey from Council’s website at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/waitingzone or via the Waiting Zone Facebook page.
Completed surveys should be returned via email to murray.macallister@mildura.vic.gov.au or post to Murray MacAllister Communtiy Safety Officer Mildura Rural City Council PO Box 105 Mildura VIC 3502
To find out more about the Waiting Zone evaluation process please contact Council’s Community Safety Officer Murray MacAllister on 5018 8254.
The Waiting Zone is an initiative of the Mildura CBD Safety Strategy which is funded through the Criminal Justice Division of the Australian Government’s Attorney General Department.
