Hot on the heels of Orchestra Victoria's highly successful education workshop in Mildura in August, Orchestra Victoria returns to Sunraysia for an exciting concert series at the Mildura Arts Centre. Audiences will be spellbound by a beautiful program of music including Vivaldi's Concerto for 3 Violins and Haydn's much loved Toy Symphony, complete with toy instruments. Artistic Director Jo Beaumont will lead Orchestra Victoria's strings in these intimate chamber concerts.  VICTORIAN SENIORS FESTIVAL 2009

Mildura Rural City Council extends an invitation to all seniors to attend events celebrating the 2009 Seniors Festival.
You do not need to be a member of a Senior Citizens Club - all you need to be is 55 years or over and wanting to have a really good time.
Tickets will be on sale for all events supported by Council on Monday 14 September from 9.30am-11.30am only at Mildura Senior Citizens (Cnr 10th Street & Langtree Ave). After 1.30pm tickets will be available from Mildura Rural City Council Offices, 76 Deakin Ave until sold out.
Some events may be free of charge but tickets are still required to assist with seating and catering.
Sunraysia Bus Lines have partnered with us to offer Seniors FREE bus travel during the Festival on all their bus routes.

 DESERT STORM II BOXING TOURNAMENT

The boxing tournament will be held under a massive marquee at the back of the Edge Hotel/Motel. The night will be on the edge of your seat type of entertainment with the very talented skills on interstate and local boxers (You Can Do It Boxing Gym). A strong line up of bouts provided, boxers weigh in times commencing from 5-6pm all welcome. The night will include a DJ, effects lighting, bout girls, lively announcer, retired boxing greats, meet and greet celebrations at the end of the night, footage of the fights on the night will be for sale, hot food and drinks at bar prices. This years event, in Mildura, was chosen because of the relatively central location for Victorians, South Australians and New South Welshman. Members attend seminars, training sessions, participate in sporting events and have ample time for the all important social activities. The event provides an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the recreational vehicle lifestyle to see first hand and discuss issues with members.

 GARDEN TOUR AND LIGHT LUNCH  
Sunday, 25 October 2009 The tractor-train tour commences from the Information Centre at 11.30am. It's all aboard for the tour which winds its way throught the various exotice plantings. Complete with commentary, it's a very relaxing and informative way to spend 45 minutes. Garden tours cost is $5.50 and children under 12 are free. A light lunch supplied by the "Friends of the Gardens" is available from 12noon to 1.30pm. Gardens are open weekdays from 8am-4.30pm and weekends from 10am-4.30pm.

The Festival combines traditional swing to the more contemporary and quirky sounds that caters for hardcore jazz enthusiasts and music lovers, not to mention those that just want to sit back and soak up the ambience.
