Make sure your bins are collected

Put your kerbside bins out the night before they are due for collection. Bins can be collected at any time between 5am and 9pm. Issues can arise where the collection schedule is interrupted which means your bin can be collected later or earlier than usual.

Make sure there are no obstructions to your bin getting collected. Make sure there are no parked cars, letterboxes, posts, signs or trees too close or blocking the collection of the bins.

Urban Areas
Place your bin on the nature strip or footpath 10–100cm from the kerb with the wheels and handle of the bin facing your property.

Rural Areas
Place your bin 1.5m–2m from the edge of the sealed road or the graded road shoulder with the wheels and handle of the bin facing your property.

Reasons your bin may not be collected

  • We will only collect bins that have been issued by Council. If you have additional bins that have not been approved by Council, they will not be emptied.
  • If your bin is too heavy (more than 75kg) the truck cannot pick it up.
  • We will not collect items sitting next to the bins. You will need to pick up any bin spillage not caused by the collection truck.

Missed, stolen, damaged and new bins

  • If your bin has not been picked up by the following morning after your collection day, please contact us.
  • If you need a new bin, please contact us.
