Stage 1 of the Mildura Riverfront Precinct Redevelopment is led by Mildura Rural City Council.
The $13.3 million ($7m Victorian State Government + $4.8m Federal + $1.5m Mildura Rural City Council) project will enhance the 1.2km stretch of parklands and facilities from Nowingi Place through to the Powerhouse.
Stage 1 will deliver upgrades to the Rowing Club and Powerhouse precinct, cultural interpretation, boardwalks, water play, pop-up cafe/kiosk opportunities, upgrades to existing facilities around Nowingi Place, the skate park and more.
The aim is to build on our existing assets and related activities so residents and visitors can further enjoy cultural, community and recreational opportunities along the riverfront.
The Design Phase for Stage 1 commenced in February 2013 with the appointment of a design team: Landscape Architect Tract Consultants and Gregory Burgess Architects, who will work with our community to develop plans for the parklands.
