First Foods: Preparing food for babies and toddlers – Sara Lewis

 

This book opens with information on weaning, first tastes and feeding babies from the age of four months up to 12 months. It contains recipes, advice on hygiene, food preparation, maintaining a balanced diet and introducing and phasing out different foods. The second section is directed at toddlers and has lots of tempting recipes and the third section is on family meals and is the perfect planner for busy parents, featuring the author’s unique “three-way stretch”.

There are more than 35 basic recipes, including main courses, vegetable dishes and desserts, with simple instructions on how to produce a healthy puree for a baby, a fun toddler meal and a satisfying dish for parents, simultaneously.

This lovely book features more than 130 recipes and includes all the seasonal favourites you would expect to find, such as roast turkey and traditional puddings with all the trimmings, alongside more contempory flavours, like cardamom, chocolate and pear trifle. It contains photographs for each recipe and they have been written in easy to follow directions.
