| | | | Mildura Rural City Council’s annual community grants program was developed on the foundations of strengthening and celebrating our region.
First administered in 1995, the program provides financial support to groups for the development of community initiatives and services through a number of different programs.
During the 2009-2010 financial year Council is offering funding through seven different grants categories, details of which can be found below.

Hints and tips on applying for grants | | Applying for grants can be daunting, but there are a few tips that can make applying for grants much easier and give your application more chances to succeed: |
 | Apply for the grant that fits your project - Council has different grant schemes that suit a range of projects. This ensures Council is able to support a variety of projects that will assist as many as people as possible over a year. | | Address the grant criteria - Each grant has specific criteria on which applications are assessed. Ensure your application addresses these to make sure the full merit of your proposal is conveyed. | | Discuss your project with the relevant Council staff - Contact information is included on this site to help you obtain all the information you need. | | Equip yourself with as much information as possible - there is a range of resources available through Council's Library Services which highlight different grants and how to apply for them. |
|
| Grassroots Grants | | Grassroots Grants are especially designed for people in the community to learn great tips for getting ‘grant ready', where to start looking for available dollars and what the best approach is.
The Grassroots Grant resource kit was funded by Regional Development Victoria, through its Small Towns Vic Program. The Kit has all the information community groups need, including how to build relationships, preparing a grants submission, managing their project and what happens when the project is over.
Further information can be found at www.mav.asn.au by searching Grassroots grants.

| Other ways to secure grant funding | | Council is not the only source of grant funding - if your project doesn't fit in with a Council grant, there are many organisations that might be able to assist.
