| Transport Connections Project | | The Transport Connections Project is a community-based approach to linking and improving public transport opportunities throughout the region.
Auspiced by the Northern Mallee Primary Care Partnership, the project aims to identify the use of existing transport assets and service, such as taxis, school buses, community buses and volunteers, communities are able to develop new approaches that enable people to get around more easily. |
| Merbein Centenary | | The proud community of Merbein, Victoria's first state-owned irrigation settlement, celebrates its centenary in 2009 with celebrations from August 14 until August 23.
An Invitation is extended to all present and former residents and friends of the Merbein Community to join in the 10 day program of festivities.
The Centenary Committee is a sub-committee under the auspices of the Merbein District Historical Society Inc.

| Mildura-Upland Sister City | | Mildura Rural City Council has three sister cities: Dali in China's Yunnan Province, Kumatori in Japan and Upland in California.
Upland and Mildura share common ties in their heritage. Both founded by the Chaffey Brothers with an emphasis on irrigation, the cities signed a friendship agreement in 1969.
The Mildura-Upland Sister City Association meets quarterly and goodwill visits between the communities remain common. |
