Work is now complete on the new pedestrian crossing at the Seventh Street and Langtree Avenue intersection in Mildura. The pedestrian crossing is now operational and vehicles will be required to give way to pedestrians that are using the crossing.

A 40 kilometre an hour speed limit was recently introduced on Seventh Street between Deakin Avenue and Pine Avenue. The change brings this section of road in line with the AREA 40 speed zone within Mildura’s Central Business District.

“With these changes in traffic conditions, Council encourages both road users and pedestrians to take extra care when approaching the Seventh Street and Langtree Avenue intersection,” said General Manager Community Martin Hawson.

This Seventh Street Crossing now forms a new access route from Mildura’s Central Business District to the Riverfront Precinct’s Langtree Connection entrance.

“The riverfront has always been a popular destination and the Seventh Street pedestrian crossing will now make it easier and safer for the public to access our Riverfront Precinct,” said Mr Hawson.
