Work will start on Monday on a new roundabout in Ontario Avenue, aimed at reducing traffic congestion and increasing safety for road users.

The roundabout will be installed at the intersection of Twelfth Street and Ontario Avenue and will be concrete in construction and include centre lighting. It is expected to take about three weeks to complete.

Councillor for Infrastructure and Transport Greg Brown said the roundabout would address two key issues.

“This intersection can often be difficult to negotiate and lead to congestion as drivers attempt to either enter or exit Twelfth Street at Ontario Avenue,” Cr Brown said.

“A roundabout will help keep traffic moving and make this intersection safer and easier to use.”

The works will require temporary road closures and disruption to traffic at certain times over the coming three weeks. Drivers are asked to take note of any signage and traffic direction during this period.
