Mildura Rural City Council will hold a Future Planning Forum at the Mallee Track Health and Community Service on Friday, 27 October to help residents plan for their senior years.

Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Ali Cupper highlighted the importance of residents considering and planning for their future.

“There are many aspects to consider, such as ensuring you have a will, power of attorney, as well as the type of care you may need and what is available, such as aged care, palliative care and respite care,” Cr Cupper said.

This month’s forum, which will be held at the Mallee Track Health and Community Service from 10am, will help inform residents about the options available to them.

Cr Cupper said it would also feature a range of service providers who will be on hand to discuss residents’ future plans, providing guidance on issues including planning for aged care, distribution of assets and sharing their wishes should they become incapacitated.

“This is a great opportunity for residents take stock of where they’re at in their lives, what their needs may be in the future, and how best to plan,” she said.

Residents intending to attend the forum are asked to RSVP to the Ouyen Service Centre or Council’s Rural Access Worker Jeni Snadden on (03) 5018 8100 by Monday, 23 October.
