Apex Park to reopen this Friday

Published on 19 January 2017

Mildura Rural City Council will reopen Apex Park to the public this Friday.

The Cureton Avenue entry to the park, Apex Park beach and the Apex Park boat ramp will all be accessible from 5pm, as will the public toilets.

The reopening follows a massive amount of work at the park in recent weeks by Council staff and contractors, including restoring power, water, sewerage, drainage, plumbing and telephone services.

Other works have included garden clean-up and maintenance, removal of logs and fallen trees and road and building repairs.

Apex Park was closed ahead of the recent Murray River flooding, which inundated large areas of the park.

It has remained closed to the public until this week to allow for significant repairs and reinstatement works.

While the park, beach and boat ramp will all be accessible from this Friday, some rectification works are still under way to completely restore the area.

This includes works to the Apex Park walking track. People wishing to use the track are urged to be aware works are still required and to take care.

The Apex Park caravan park is expected to reopen for the Australia Day long weekend, at the discretion of the park lessee.
