Well over 100 attendees last night celebrated the achievements of the more than 25 young people who were nominated for this year’s Mildura Rural City Council Youth Awards.

The awards were first given out five years ago as a way to thank our local under-25s who do their bit to support the community in our region. The awards are presented each year during Victorian Youth Week.

Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Min Poole said the Youth Awards is an opportunity to recognise and highlight the work our youth are doing and to celebrate the contributions they make to the wider community.

“It was a fantastic celebration last night and it’s wonderful to see so many enthusiastic young people making such a difference to our community,” Cr Poole said.

“We have so many talented and dedicated under-25s supporting us, and sometimes having someone just say thank you can make a real difference in a young person’s life and give them the determination to go even further.”
