Provision of Goods, Advertising, Signs and Outdoor Dining Facilities

Businesses can apply to use the footpath outside their premises for advertising signs, display of goods, advertising, signs and outdoor dining facilities. Each application will be assessed  against relevant guidelines including the Alfresco Dining Policy. A site inspection by a Local Laws Officer may also be required.

A Permit will not be granted for an application that does not meet Council's guidelines. The guidelines consider potential negative impacts on:

  • The streetscape and appearance of the area
  • Vehicular traffic flows and safety, including bus and loading zones
  • Pedestrian movement and safety
  • Proposed road widening, installation of traffic lights, building setback or a Council planning policy
  • Health and safety issues
  • Council assets

    Obtaining a permit

  • Complete an Community Local Law No.2 application form (attached below)
  • Provide a diagram of the proposed set-up (included in application form)
  • Provide a copy of the CURRENT Public Liability Insurance Policy
  • Agree to any conditions fixed as part of the permit
